Volkswagen introduces ‘Cup Edition’ of Polo, Ameo and Vento

To cheer-up and celebrate the 2019 ICC World Cup series which begins today, Volkswagen has launched a special ‘Cup Edition’ of its Polo, Vento and Ameo models. With the introduction of these new special editions, the German automaker has also started a marketing campaign in India christened as “#GermanyCheersForIndia”.

The Cup Editions get new body graphics with Cup-themed stickers on the sides and Cup badge with chrome finish on the front fender. On the interior, Volkswagen offers new leather seat covers with Cup logo for the Special Edition models. The alloy wheels are also new with 15-inch ‘Razor’ type on the Polo Cup Edition, 15-inch ‘Tosa’ type on the Ameo Cup Edition and 15-inch ‘Linas’ alloy wheels on the Vento Cup Edition.

Volkswagen Cup Edition models are available only with a petrol engine option initially and the diesel versions will be followed shortly. Volkswagen Vento Cup model gets the 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit delivering 103bhp power and 153Nm of torque while the Polo and Ameo Cup Editions are powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes a power of 75bhp and torque of 95Nm. Transmission duties for all the three cup edition models are handled by a 5-speed Manual gearbox.

Prices (ex-showroom, India) for the Cup Editions are as follows.

(i) Volkswagen Polo Cup Edition – Rs.6.49 lakhs;

(ii) Volkswagen Ameo Cup Edition – Rs.6.19 lakhs;

(iii) Volkswagen Vento Cup Edition – Rs.9.24 lakhs.
