Vote for those who work for your constituency: Khader

Mangaluru: “Use your common sense before casting your vote. Vote for those who work for your constituency and those capable of addressing your issues in the parliament,” said U T Khader speaking to the media at the district Congress office here on Thursday April 11th.

“BJP has been seeking votes by using the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But, Modi will not come to address local problems. The MP representing our constituency is responsible to address our problems. Therefore people should cast their votes for the coalition candidate Mithun Rai,” said Khader.

Speaking on BJP’s claim that Modi has taken strict action against terrorism in our country Khader said, “If Modi has taken serious action against terrorists, how come an RSS leader was shot dead in Kashmir by some miscreants two days ago? BJP has been spreading false propaganda to gain votes,” he alleged.

Responding to a query on the state government’s decision to withdraw 142 cases regarding heinous crimes Khader said, “No such decision was taken after the formation of the coalition government. However I will speak with the state home minister. I am sure that though the previous Congress government might have taken such a decision, the guidelines may not have been violated,” he said.

Replying to the statement by BJP leader Malvika that BJP came to power in 2014 due to corrupt UPA government Khader said, “Congress will never forgive anybody who indulges in corruption. Our party has never shown sympathy for law offenders,” he replied.

To a question of Congress party developing a soft corner for Hinduism in the recent days with its candidate Mithun Rai chanting Hanuman Chalisa while participating in election campaigns Khader said,” Congress supports Hinduism propagated by Swami Vivekananda or Narayana Guru among others. It always has been against extremist Hinduism which propagates violence in the name of Hinduism. Mithun Rai is a Hindu and has been chanting Hanuman Chalisa since his childhood. There is no hidden motive in it,” he explained.
