Voter slips with photos of voters to be distributed from April 5

Bengaluru: BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad, who is the district election officer, here on Wednesday, April 3 informed that for the elections scheduled to be held on April 18, voter slips with photos of voters will be distributed to their houses by BBMP workers from April 5.

Addressing presspersons with this regard he said that the distribution of voter slips will start from April 5 and end on April 11.

He also informed that along with voter slips each house will be given a voter guide, which gives details of polling booths.

Over 8,500 workers have been deputed for the purpose, he added.

Bengaluru has 90,83,554 eligible voters, of which 47,33,562 are male and 43,48,452 are female, while 1,450 are third gender voters. From Bangalore North 31 candidates, Bangalore South 25 candidates and Bangalore Central 22 candidates are contesting the election.

Seven-phased elections in the country will begin on April 11 and go on till May 19. Counting of votes will be done on May 23.

Karnataka will go to polls on April 18 and 23.
