Votes polled: 55% in DK, 63% in Udupi

Mangaluru: A total voter turnout of 55.26% was recorded in Dakshina Kannada district till 3pm. during this period the maximum voter turnout was 67.64% in Bantwal while the minimum 46.65% was in Sullia constituency. Mangaluru (Ullal) registered 60.57% polling. Puttur, Belthangady, Mangaluru South and Mangaluru North registered 65.31%, 65.12%,53.63% and 60.23% respectively.
A special control room has been set up in the DC office to gather poll updates from various constituencies across the district.
2 faulty EVM’s in Udupi
Udupi district witnessed brisk voting with a voter turnout of 63.56% in Udupi Assembly constituency at 1:40pm. Likewise, the voter turnout at Byndoor, Kundapur, Kaup and Karkala was 63.74%, 62.29%, 63.57% and 64.54% respectively.
Polling was delayed by two hours at Januvarukatte near Bharmavar due to a faulty EVM. Presntly the defective EVM has been replaced and the voting has continued.
Polling booth at Kukkikatte in Udupi town too faced an hours delay due to faulty EVM which was soon replaced.
