Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are ruling the world of technology, especially the gaming industry.

Thanks to such technological advancements, users, get a feel of close-to-reality.

But what if the same technology ‘kills’ you?

The ‘father of modern Virtual Reality (VR)’ Palmer Luckey claims to have invented such a VR gaming experience.

The headset “NerveGear” created by Luckey is said to bombard the brain with extraordinarily powerful microwaves if the gamer fails to complete the game or dies in the VR game.

Luckey explains this feature in his blog post in detail.

As per his blog post, it says, “NerverGear is the incredible device that perfectly recreates reality using a direct neutral interface that is also capable of killing the user”.

Adding further he writes, “Pumped up graphics might make a game look more real, but only the threat of serious consequences can make a game feel real to you and every other person in the game”. He says that this area is ‘unexplored’ despite of real-world sports revolving around similar stakes.

However, he has given the good news that the true NerveGear with perfect VR equation will take some years to be developed as the current one he possesses, only half of the technology that kills the user.

It is learned that the gear is built to commemorate the anime Sword Art Online. This anime is popular across Japan. It traps players in a 100-floor dungeon in the virtual world and if they die in the game, the user will die for real.
