VTU students demand cancellation of Engineering exams

Visvesvaraya Technological University was supposed to conduct its semester-end examinations in June and release the results for the same in the month of July. But, now the students of the engineering colleges affiliated to VTU are demanding cancellation for all the examinations except the final year-end semester examinations

The All India Democratic Students Organisation has written a petition to the Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) asking them to cancel exams based on online classes held during the lockdown period.

The students complained of lack of availability of study material and guidance from the teacher is making it difficult for students to understand the topic prepare for the examination and also complain about the internet Connectivity.

Also, According to a survey conducted by AIDSO on 4,000 VTU students, it was found that 77.3% of them did not attend a majority of the classes, while 91.2% of students said that they could not follow the classes which they attended. Another 97.1% of students said that they are not ready to face the examination based on online classes.
