 Mysuru:  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other dignitaries offered floral tributes to the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari in the ambari (golden howdah) carried by Abhimanyu at the Vijayadashami celebrations in the cultural city of Mysuru on Wednesday October 5.

The world famous Mysuru Dasara Jumboo Savari has began at the Mysore Palace premises. The Jamboo Savari procession is being led by elephant Arjuna.

Earlier, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with his family members offered prayers to the Nandi flag.  At 3.62 p.m., Dasara elephant ‘Nishane Ane’ Arjuna saluted and led the Jumboo Savari procession.

People from far-flung places, from all over the country and abroad, had been waiting since 10 a.m. to witness the grandeur of the Jumboo Savari, braving the harsh sun.
