Water problem resolved to an extent
Udupi: Water still not reaching residence in elevated areas

Udupi: The water problem the city has been facing since 10 days is showing signs of alleviation. But the problem has maintained status quo in areas without wells and elevated areas. There are still many areas where water has not been provided since 8 days.
Dredging at Baje dam and pumping water from water holes is still on the clock. A team of civil work officials from the municipality has remained here. The city has been divided into 6 divisions and water has been supplied to 2-3 divisions. Close to 9MLD of water was pumped on Saturday.
Tankers increased
Even amidst the shortage in water tankers, the municipality managed to supply water in 10 tankers. Organizations and institutions in Kadavur have joined hands to fulfill water requirement. In some wards, water is being supplied through tankers by defeated candidates as well as by municipality members. Some more have provided monetary assistance.
Acute problem at 22 locations
“22 locations within the municipality limits facing sever water shortage have already been identified and water is being supplied there through tankers. The work on pumping water and dredging at the empty dam is in progress. Rationing is also being followed. Only with the commencement of rain will the problem be completely resolved,” said Hepsiba Rani Korlapati, Deputy Commissioner, Udupi
Mangaluru: Water till May 13th
Mangaluru: As per the water rationing rule currently in effect in the city, drinking water will be supplied till 6 am of May 13th and water will be available on Sunday as well. But the decision of revising the water rationing rule may be done on Sunday.
