Water rationing from May 4 in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: In view of the drastic drop in water storage level at Thumbe vented dam, water rationing will be implemented from tomorrow (May 4) in the city limits.
Water will be supplied on alternate days for Mangaluru city and Surathkal areas, said a notification by the MCC Executive Engineer.
Using water for building construction, and other construction activities as well as vehicle wash service centres is also prohibited. Teh connections of these users will be cut in the next few days, the notification said.
The connections of users who waste water will be cut off, the notification warned.
MCC urged the public to cooperate with the administration for saving water.
