We are checking with mines department regarding any blasts: IMD on B’luru loud boom

Bengaluru: On Friday, July 2, A loud noise was heard in South Bengaluru around 12.30 pm. Several took to social media to report the loud sound and also how window panes and doors rattled due to the sound.

Now,  the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Bengaluru unit said, “Do not panic. We are checking with the mines department regarding any blasts.”

Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) said that there was no signal of any local tremor or earthquake.

The Indian Air Force too denied any flying activity which could cause any loud noise. “None of the IAF bases or units, including ASTE (Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment), was flying at that time,” the IAF said in a statement.
