Gadag: KPCC president DK Shivakumar said that Congress has protected the minorities’ interest in the past and it will continue to do so in the future. “The constitution is our religion, The Indian National Flag is our religion,” he said.

Talking to newsmen in Gadag, he said the Mekedatu Padayatre was not an election gimmick. BJP hasn’t fulfilled its promises made to the people but tried everything to stop our fight for justice. “We will resume the agitation for Mekedatu cause,” he said.

North Karnataka and Kalyana Karnataka faced many problems. “We will plan work keeping those in mind,” he said adding that government intends to stop all Congress works. “It’s ironic that fairs and religious processions are allowed, but political rallies are not,” he lamented.
