Weekend curfew in Udupi dist; here’s list of what will be permitted

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has implemented a weekend curfew in the district to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection.

The curfew will be in effect from 7 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday.

During the weekend curfew period, only the following activities will be permitted:

– Purchase of essential items (food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, milk ) from 6 am to 2 pm
– Independent liquor shops from 6 am to 2 pm
– Home delivery and parcels from all types of eateries
– Private vehicle or taxi movement to the railway station or airport for ticketed travellers
– Marriage ceremonies already scheduled at home with 40 invitees
– Funeral services with only 5 people in attendance
