Weekend Curfew in Udupi dist; Wedding with 400 attendees allowed

Udupi: Amid the rising Covid-19 cases in the district, a weekend curfew for two days has been imposed in Udupi on September 2.

As per the orders, the night curfew will be operational from 9 pm to 5 am on all days and the weekend curfews will be from 9 pm on Fridays to 5 am on Mondays in the district.

Pubs shall remain closed.

Stadiums and swimming pools will be allowed to open for athletes with Covid protocol in place but the audience will not be allowed.

Transport facilities are allowed with 100% seating capacity.

Social, political, cultural, religious and mass gatherings will be prohibited.

Marriages can have 400 people and cremations/funerals can have 20 people in attendance.

The wedding organizers will have to submit an application along with the invitation card to the Tahsildar who will issue passes to the 400 attendees.

All places of worship can remain open but must strictly adhere to COVID-19 precautionary protocols.

Cinema theatres will be allowed to open with 50% seating capacity.  Amusement Parks (except water parks) are allowed to function with strict Covid-19 protocol.

Night curfew guidelines: 

Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited from 9 pm to 5 am except for emergency activities.

Movement of Public Transport, private vehicles, and taxis to and from airports, railway stations and bus terminal is allowed for facilitating the movement of passengers by air, rail and road, but the movement will be allowed only on displaying valid travel documents and tickets and strictly adhering to COVID-appropriate Behaviour.

Movement of employees of organizations dealing with emergency and essential services shall be allowed on producing valid ID cards issued by their respective organisation or institution.
