Western Division police introduces ‘Obavva Troupe’

Bengaluru: The Western Division police has begun ‘Obavva Troupe’ in its undertaking to stop harassment of ladies and securing their rights. The troupe has begun its work in Upparapete station limits. 

Ladies constables wearing black T-shirts, military shading pant and cap with lathis in hand patrolled in Majestic bus stand, Metro bus stand and surrounding areas.

‌Meanwhile, they asked for general society to inform about the any case of harassment to the women and guaranteed of arresting such miscreants. At present, there are eight lady cops in the group, including a PSI. 

In a tweet, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Chennannavar stated,“We have formed a special women’s police squad to protect law and order, to eradicate criminal activities and for the protection of women.”
