US President-elect Joe Biden revealed that he also has an Indian connect. He revealed that he has distant relatives in India, saying, “There are five Bidens in Mumbai.”
It is said that when Joe Biden was elected as one of the youngest US senators in 1972, one of the first letters that he received was from Mumbai, with the sender having the same last name as his.
Biden claimed that he had received a letter from a “Biden from Mumbai” in 1972 telling him about his “great, great, great…grandfather” George Biden, who had married and settled in India after retiring from East India Trading company.
He wanted to follow up on the letter and get in touch with the ‘Biden from Mumbai’. However, he could not but even after five decades he still wants to fulfil the wish.
“Maybe, some genealogist in the audience can follow up for me, but I received a letter from a gentleman named Biden – Biden, my name, from Mumbai, asserting that we were related,” Biden had told the Mumbai audience.
