An international panel of scientists announced on Tuesday that the sun had emerged from the quietest part of its 11-year sunspot cycle and had now entered the 25th numbered cycle.
Scientists from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced their predictions
☀️ Hearing a lot about our Sun today?
Scientists just announced it’s in a new cycle — meaning that we expect to see solar activity start to ramp up over the next several years.

According CNN, Every 11 years, the Sun begins a new solar cycle. Some cycles are quiet, some cycles are active and determines solar weather.
Solar weather has effects on radio communication, astronauts.Solar cycle 25 will be similar to Solar Cycle 24 which was the weakest cycle in 100 years.
This is Solar Cycle 25 because the numbering of cycles began in 1755. Although it began in December 2019, it takes up to 10 months for scientists to determine when the new cycle actually began since the Sun is a variable star.
Solar scientists track the cycle through the ebb and flow in the number of sunspots, which reflects the level of ferocity in the sun’s magnetic fields.
NASA scientists claim that the Sun’s impact on our daily lives is real and that they are working together on the National Space Weather Strategy and Action Plan to enhance space weather preparedness and protect the nation from space weather hazards.
