The legendary Mike Tyson had officially announced his return and has been publicly showing off his insanely fit physique. He had also opened up about undergoing stem cell therapy which reportedly sparked concerns over cheating ahead of his boxing return.
Stem-cell therapy
Stem-cell therapy is the use of stem cells to treat or prevent a disease or condition that usually takes the form of a bone marrow transplantation. Stem cell therapy helps generate healthy cells to replace diseased cells
According to Mayo Clinic, Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, stem cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells.
These daughter cells either become new stem cells or become specialized cells (differentiation) with a more specific function, such as blood cells, brain cells, heart muscle cells or bone cells. No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types.
Although, Mike did not reveal what the exact condition was that was being treated, the stem cell transplants can be used to treat severe aplastic anaemia, leukaemia, a type of cancer affecting white blood cells, lymphoma, another type of cancer affecting white blood cells, myeloma, cancer affecting cells called plasma cells and certain blood, immune system and metabolic disorders
