Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the occasion of World Food Day, urged the State govt to continue Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Dhare, Midday Meal scheme & Indira Canteen by providing funds at the earliest.

Taking to Twitter Siddaramaiah wrote, On this World Food Day, I urge the State govt to continue Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Dhare, Midday Meal scheme & Indira Canteen by providing funds at the earliest. Nobody in our state should sleep in empty stomach or die of hunger.

He further slamming the centre government tweeted, “According to 2019 Global Hunger Index, India has slipped to 102 out of 117 countries. The report says that India has ‘Serious’ hunger levels and yet many believe ‘Acche Din Aayega’. The question is when? Is it when all, except the Cronies, die of hunger?”

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.
