In the past few years playing in online casinos has become an increasingly-popular pastime for people in India, especially as the penetration of internet access has risen to include over 34% of the country’s 1.36 billion-strong population.
But this has led some people to wonder exactly why there are aren’t any specifically Indian online casino sites yet featuring popular games from the country and aimed at entertaining the domestic market.
When looking around for online casinos, sites like Casinowings take a closer look at gambling companies to help people choose where to play. Examining the list, one can see quite a few names which are themed to Las Vegas and even some to Great Britain. There are also casino reviews and publicity about the bonuses on offer, but Indian casinos are conspicuous by their absence.
At the moment there are all the usual games available to play including roulette, blackjack, poker and the ever-popular slots. So, how could an Indian online casino differ from the others on offer?
The perfect card games
Firstly, there are a number of indigenous card betting games that could easily transfer to being online versions with one of the most popular being Satte Pe Satta. This could be especially good to include as it’s a game that can be played by a large number of players at the same time.
Then there is Teen Patti, a uniquely Indian twist on the ever-popular game of poker and its variant, 3 Card Brag. It also has several elements in common with blackjack in that players are competing against the dealer. So it could even utilize the popular “live casino” format in which real-time action is streamed direct to the player’s PC or mobile device.

Top slots for Indian sites
It’s in the area of slots games that an Indian online casino could really come into its own. These games are the most popular of all on all casino sites, appealing to a wide range of people.
Already, there are very many that take the classical world, and treasure hunts within it, as their themes with Ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire being particular favorites. Therefore, it would seem logical that ancient Indian treasures like the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond could be the perfect theme as well. Then there are the country’s most famous visitor attractions like the Taj Mahal and Mumbai’s Gate of India, ready and primed to be celebrated in an online slot.

Many of the slots that you’ll find in online casinos also feature movies as their theme with characters from them used as symbols and even excerpts of the films included as part of the game. What could be better than Bollywood movies to bring their vibrancy and excitement to slots too?
It all adds up to what could be a brilliant online casino specifically designed for Indian players to enjoy. Now we just have to wait for a casino operator with the vision to make it happen.
