Which sportspersons earned the most in 2020 as per Forbes?

Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is the highest-paid sportsperson of 2020 with $106.3-million earnings, as per Forbes’ highest-paid celebrities list.

He is just the ninth athlete to have landed in the top spot since 1990, the first year Forbes began tracking athletes’ earnings.

He is followed by Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million) and Lionel Messi ($104 million). Ronaldo earned $45 million from Nike, Altice, Herbalife and his own CR7 brand, while Messi pulled in $32 million from Adidas, MasterCard and PepsiCo.

PSG forward Neymar is next with $95.5-million earnings. LA Lakers’ LeBron James is fifth-highest paid athlete with $88.2-million earnings.

According to Forbes, Athletes from 21 countries and 10 sports make the final cut this year, as do two women — Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams – the first time more than one woman has made the ranks since 2016, when Williams appeared with Maria Sharapova
