Who is VK Yadav, the first-ever CEO of 114-year-old Railway Board?

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday, Sep 2, approved restructuring of Railway Board and appointed Vinod Kumar Yadav as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Board
Prior to this, he had worked as General Manager, South Central Railway. He holds an MBA in Technology Management from Australia’s La Trobe University and BE (Electrical Engineering) from Allahabad University.
According to Live Mint, In the railways, Vinod Kumar Yadav’s previous assignments included serving as Chief Electrical Engineer, Planning/Traction Distribution, Northern Railway; Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow Division, North Eastern Railway and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operation), Delhi Division, Northern Railway.
Now, as the Chairman and CEO of the board, he will be the cadre controlling officer responsible for human resources with assistance from a DG (HR).
PM Narendra Modi-headed Union Cabinet approved the recast of the 114-year-old board on functional lines as part of broader reforms in Indian Railways. As part of the recasting, board members have been reduced to five from eight earlier. Four members other than the chairman will head infrastructure, rolling stock, finance, operations and business development.
