Mysuru: Local MP Pratap Simha alleged that authorities are singling out Hindu temples for eviction and are not bothered about the illegal construction of mosques or churches.
Speaking at a press conference held at the 101 Ganpati Temple in the city, Simha said, “Administration is busy demolishing temples but nobody is bothered about illegal mosques or churches. Why are only Hindu temples targeted?”
“A notice has been issued to demolish 101 Ganapati Temple on September 21. The temple was built in 1955. They say it is an order from the Supreme court. Even we have orders from the Supreme court. In 2009, the Supreme Court issued an interim order and instructed the Chief Secretary to issue a report of the implementation of the judgment within eight weeks. The Supreme Court had ordered that no buildings including temples, mosques, or churches must be built in Kyatamaranahalli. But why did the administration grant permission to build a mosque there? This led to the murder of RSS worker Raju,” he added.
