Kalaburagi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Raichur district to personally review the investigation into the murder of Sanjay Kurdikar.
The crime occurred on August 22 in Kurdi village, Manvi taluk, Raichur district, where Sanjay was allegedly murdered by his brother over a property dispute.
The directive came after Sanjay Kurdikar’s wife submitted a plea to the Chief Minister during a public grievances session in Kalaburagi on Tuesday. The CM was attending a special cabinet meeting when Shantamma, the wife of the deceased, approached him with the request.
Moved by her distress, CM Siddaramaiah immediately contacted the Raichur SP over the phone, seeking details about the ongoing investigation. He instructed the SP to personally oversee the case and ensure that the investigation was thorough.
The CM emphasized that any gaps in the investigation or the possibility of other culprits being involved should be looked into. “Justice for the victim’s family will only be possible if all the real culprits are brought to book. I expect a detailed report on the case soon,” Siddaramaiah told the officer.
