Shivamogga: A Shivamogga resident was left flabbergasted when his wife sought divorce from him for announcing their marriage on social media without her consent.

As per reports the couple – Nitin and Lakshmi (names changed) entered wedlock a month ago against the wishes of their family. Recently Nitin uploaded their photo on Facebook without Lakshmi’s consent.

Lakshmi was angered since Nitin had promised to ask her consent before uploading her pictures on social media and therefore approached the family court, seeking divorce.

Nitin on his part said that he felt family members would stop troubling them once they saw the picture but was shocked when Lakshmi asked for divorce. He is trying his best to convince Lakshmi not to take such a rash decision, informed a counsellor.

Meanwhile, family members have refused to intervene in this matter as they had married against their wishes.
