Wild elephant flings sleeping villager, leaves him seriously injured

Chikkamagaluru: A man sleeping outside his house was attacked and flung by a wild elephant in Hukkunda village near Aldur on Sunday morning.
The victim, identified as Narayan Gowda, sustained serious injuries to his head and leg and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred around 5 AM when Narayan Gowda, who was sleeping outside his house, was attacked by a lone tusker. The elephant lifted him with its trunk and threw him onto a pile of hay, which prevented further severe injuries.
The Aldur region has recently seen an increase in lone elephant activity, causing concern among residents. Forest officials rushed to the spot upon receiving information and conducted an investigation.
The attack has left villagers terrified, and they are demanding the immediate relocation of the wild elephant to ensure their safety.
