Bengaluru: In the backdrop of Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi announcing his intention to quit Congress, Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar on Tuesday said that the party would convince him to change his decision.

Speaking to reporters here Parameshwar said that Congress was willing to give the leader a suitable position if he was quitting the party because he was ousted from the ministry. “We will talk to him and persuade him not to go,” he added.

Reacting to predictions made by few BJP leaders about the fall of the coalition government Dr Parameshwar said there were day-dreaming and such a situation will not arise.

Further he said that the party would address issues of disgruntled Congress legislators. “Reports of our legislators joining BJP are untrue. In fact, there are several unhappy legislators in the BJP and so there is no threat to the present government,” he added.
