Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Thursday mourned the death of his close friend and actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik.

In an emotional post on Twitter, Salman remembered his “Tere Naam” director, for whom he has deep respect.

Kaushik died of a heart attack while he was on his way to a Gurugram hospital in the early hours of Thursday. He was 66.

“Always loved, cared n respected him n shall alway remember him for the man that he was. May his soul rest in peace and strength to family and loved ones. .. #RIP Satish Ji (sic)” Salman wrote in his tweet.

The actor worked with Kaushik in his 2003 superhit directorial venture ”Tere Naam” and shared the screen with him in films such as ”Chal Mere Bhai”, ”Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge”, and ”Bharat”. “Tera Naam” was a remake of South star Vikram’s Tamil film “Sethu” (1999). The Hindi version upon its release in August 2003, opened well at the box-office success courtesy its chartbuster soundtrack with songs such as ”Tere Naam”, ”Lagan Lagi”, ”Kyun Kisi Ko”, ”Tumse Milna”, and ”Oodhni”.

In 2019, Kaushik had told PTI that he had started work on the sequel of ”Tere Naam” but was yet to discuss the idea with Salman.

“We are definitely making it as it is a big brand. I have got an idea for the ‘Tere Naam’ sequel. But I haven’t spoken to him or anybody else,” Kaushik had told PTI.
