Bengaluru: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has demanded the withdrawal of allegations made against him by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the Valmiki Development Corporation scandal. If not, he has called for a CBI investigation into the matter.
Poojary said he would stage a dharna and satyagraha in front of the Gandhi statue in the Vidhana Soudha premises next week if his demands are unmet.
In a letter to CM Siddaramaiah, Poojary pointed out that when Siddaramaiah was the Leader of the Opposition, he had not made any accusations against Poojary or his department. He expressed his disappointment over the current accusations of corruption made by Siddaramaiah, noting that these accusations had “hurt” him.
Poojary also clarified that when current Minister Priyank Kharge raised allegations about the borewell tender process in the Social Welfare Department, he had recommended a CID investigation, which is on record.
Poojary reminded the CM about how he had suspended the officials officials allegedly involved in the Bhovi Corporation corruption case, and handed over it to the CID for probe.
