Woman assaulted in Udupi court premises

Udupi: A woman has filed a case against a man alleging verbal abuse and assault in Udupi court premises.

The woman, Kushalakshi Pujari of Kodavoor had filed a petition seeking alimony from her husband following marital discord. The hearing of the case was on June 7.

The incident took place near the parking lot inside the Udupi court premises. The accused Satish Sherigar allegedly verbally abused Kushalakshi. Satish also allegedly kicked and knocked down her relative Jaya Pujari who tried to intervene.

Meanwhile, Satish Sherigar filed a counter-complaint with the Udupi town police stating that Jaya Pujari and Kushalakshi intercepted him while he was alighting from his car and and abused, assaulted him. They even threatened his life, he alleged.
