Woman beaten to death by husband, in-laws for dowry

Muzaffarnagar: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry here, the police said today. The incident took place yesterday in Budhana town, they said.

On the complaint of the victim’s father, a case has been registered against eight people, including the woman’s husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law, the police said, adding that all the accused are absconding.

The complainant has alleged that his daughter Aisha was being harassed over dowry by her in-laws since her marriage with Ikbal three years ago, they said. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated, the police said.
