Woman dies after a speeding car knocks her down at Kallapu

Thokkottu: A woman lost her life when a car hit her at Kallapu on the national highway in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 17. The deceased victim is identified as Florine D’Souza (48), wife of Ullal Hoige resident Dorath Paul.
The victim Florine was employed at Shagil Watch Company in Deralakatte. She was on her way to work when fate struck. Florine was attempting to cross the national highway near Kallapu when a car that was coming from Thokkottu and going towards the city collided with her.
The impact of the collision was such that Florine was thrown to the road and suffered grievous injuries to her head because of which she died on the spot. Florine is survived by husband and a daughter.
After causing the accident, the driver of the car drove his car straight to the traffic police station at Garodi and surrendered to the police.
Garodi police have registered a case in this connection.
