Woman dies in bike-truck accident

Kumta: A woman died in a tragic road accident at Kumta’s Muroor cross NH-66 on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Swati Kemaram Devasi, a resident of Chikodi in Belgaum District.

As per the sources, Swati was riding pillion on the bike was hit by a speeding truck, as the result, Swati’s head was crushed as the truck ran over her killing her on the spot.

Swati’s husband who was riding the bike has sustained minor injuries in the accident. Swati, who was working as a cook at Kaiga Power Plant was in Kumta along with her husband for a medical check-up when the accident took place, informed sources.
