In a daring act, a woman in Guwahati stood up against her molester and prevented him from fleeing by holding and dragging his scooter into an open drain.
The woman, Bhavna Kashyap took to Facebook and uploaded a video of her ordeal which has now gone viral.
In her post, Bhavna said that the accused had stopped her seeking directions to which she replied that she was unaware but the man suddenly groped her.
“No sooner these words came out of my mouth than he groped my privates (breasts) in a way that he had a sudden sexual outburst of rage and aggression on my body. For a second, I lost sense of what had just happened,” she wrote in her Facebook post.
She managed to catch hold of his scooter even when he tried to speed away and dragged him down along with the two-wheeler. In the now-viral video, the accused is seen asking for help to pick up his scooter after Bhavna dragged down his scooter into the drain.
As a crowd gathered, Bhavna told the man, identified as Madhusana Rajkumar, that women are scared of going out because of people like him.
“Had I not, this person would elope to be minimised to “just a bad experience” of me and 10s of other women he targeted before or would have, after me. But it would have stained my memory for good and would have resulted into a plethora of consequential events where I would lose trust for people in the civic society,” Bhavna wrote in her Facebook post.
Assam Police officials reached the spot and arrested the accused.
