Woman electrocuted to death, villagers blame Cescom for negligence

Chamarajanagar: A woman died after she came into contact with a live electricity wire when she was on her way to the public toilet at Hanur Taluk in Chamarajanagar.

The deceased is identified as Rajamma. She accidentally stepped on a live electric wire falling on the ground while she was on her way to a public toilet.

Following the incident, the villagers alleged negligence by Cescom staff and demanded proper compensation to the deceased’s family.

Cescom officials and Rampur police visited the spot and carried their investigation. Meanwhile, the local MLA handed over Rs.10,000 to the Rajamma’s family.

However, Cescom officials assured the family that Rs. 6 lakh compensate will be given them by the department.
