A young woman filed a case against an unknown perpetrator for sharing her nude images on social media platform.
The case was registered at the Amrithahalli police station following a complaint lodged by an 18-year-old girl, a second-year Pre-University student at a college in Yelahanka. Authorities have initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for these egregious actions.
The ordeal began when the victim, residing with her mother, Tama, noticed an indecently edited photo of her mother appearing on her Instagram account in September. Subsequently, a stranger issued a chilling ultimatum, threatening to publicize the manipulated image of her mother unless the victim complied with their demand to send her own nude photographs.
Fearing the consequences, the victim reluctantly acquiesced to the demand and shared her intimate images with the perpetrator. However, instead of ceasing their harassment, the miscreant proceeded to disseminate the victim’s nude photos across Instagram and even shared them on her deceased father’s Facebook account.
In her complaint, the distressed victim requested the authorities to take appropriate action against the individual responsible for initially editing her mother’s photo, coercing her into sending nude images, and subsequently sharing them on social media platforms.
The police have assured that efforts to identify and apprehend the culprit are underway.
