Karwar: A heart-wrenching incident occurred at Yellapura in the Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday.

Two-year-old Satvik had died from choking after consuming peanuts.

The child’s grandmother carried the dead body to a Ganapati temple nearby their house and prayed to the god to return her grandson back to life.

Satvik was taken to the taluk hospital immediately after he started to choke on the peanuts.

Doctors there extracted the peanut from Satvik’s throat. But he was breathless by that time and died.

Soon Satvik’s grandmother walked to the temple carrying her grandson’s corpse, rang the temple bells and prayed with tears to the deity to bring her grandson back to life.

The situation created an emotional atmosphere in locals residing nearby.
