Mangaluru: A serial offender who had been sneaking into a ladies paying guest (PG) accommodation near Sharavu temple here was thrashed by the woman inmates after he was caught red-handed on Tuesday, August 25 night.

The pervert, a native of Kerala was in the habit of entering their rooms and stealing their clothes at night.

The PG inmates, had lodged a complaint against the man on two earlier occasions, however, the police allegedly did not take serious action against him.

Emboldened by this, the man again sneaked into the PG premises on Tuesday night and sneaked into the room of one of the inmates. He then stole the woman’s clothes and placed it on the terrace of the facility.

When the inmate noticed her clothes were missing, she alerted others and they began a search for the man. When they found him hiding in the terrace, they thrashed him. He however managed to escape from the spot.

Citing that the person can resort to crimes, the inmates have now urged senior police officials to intervene in the matter and ensure proper protection.
