Bhopal: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by an unidentified person in full public view here last night.
The accused slit throat of Sunita Thakur with a sharp edged weapon, said police. Thakur was earlier arrested on charges of selling opium and was recently granted bail in that case, they said.
“Sunita owned a tea stall in Piplani area and was returning home with her employee at around 8 PM yesterday when an unidentified person attacked her near Ashoka Garden area,” police station in-charge of Ashoka Garden Virendra Singh said.
“Thakur’s employee fled from the spot after the attack,” the officer said, adding, the victim was declared brought dead to hospital.
“We are searching for the accused on the basis of the leads that have been gathered. The victim was earlier arrested along with her live-in partner on charges of selling opium,” Singh said. Further investigations into the incident are on, the officer said.
