Woman pillion rider killed in road accident

Bengaluru: A lady pillion rider was killed in an accident at KR Puram police headquarters limits on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Gowramma (39) a resident of Garudachar Palya. She was an owner of an eatery in the city. She was riding the pillion on a bike with a relative, Rajesh. A speeding concrete blender lorry hit their bike on the ITI Gate service road at K.R. Puram on Thursday evening killing Gowramma on spot.

As indicated by the police, the duo was riding on the bike when the lorry collided with their bike from behind around 4.30 pm.

Both Gowramma and Rajesh tumbled off the bike, at the same time, Gowramma sustained severe injuries and passed on the spot, while Rajesh got away with minor injuries, the police said. The police have arrested the lorry driver.
