Woman thrashes manager for allegedly seeking sexual favours

Davangere: A woman thrashed a bank manager publicly in Davangere district for allegedly seeking sexual favours for sanctioning a loan. The video of the incident, which emerged on Tuesday went viral over social media.
The man, Devayya (42), branch manager at the Davangere branch of DHFL bank has been arrested.
The woman dragged Devayya by his collar to a nearby women’s police station, where a case under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) was registered against him, police said.
The 38-year-old woman had applied for a loan of Rs two lakh a month ago and Devayya was allegedly not sanctioning it.
In her complaint, the woman said the manager made her visit the bank every alternate day.
A police officer said the manager asked her to come to the bank for document verification Monday.
When she went there, he asked her to come to his house as it was the last day for verification.
In her complaint, she alleged that the man forced himself on her following which she ran out of the house. Devayya also ran behind her.
As a crowd gathered, the woman caught hold of Devayya and started beating him with a stick and slipper.
Later, she dragged him by his collar to the nearby women’s police station, where a case was registered against him, police said.
