Incidents of Hindutva activists targeting members of the Christian community and disrupting prayer meetings have been on the rise in Karnataka.
On Tuesday, few persons barged into the residence of a family from the Other Backward Class (OBC) community and began questioning them for celebrating Christmas.
The group abused the women in the family asking them why were not wearing sindoor or vermillion as Hindu women do.
The women refused to be cowed into submission and confronted the activists asking who gave them the authority to question them.
In the video a woman is heard saying who they pray to is their prerogative and refuted the charges of conversion.
“I can remove the mangalsutra and keep it aside. Who have you aothority to question us,?” says the woman while asking the men to leave the house.
The altercation was resolved after police intervention. As per reports no formal complaint was filed in the case.
Meanwhile a video of the incident went viral on social media.
