Women police force arrest two for gambling

First operation by Rani Abbakka Force

Udupi: The newly started ‘Rani Abbakka Force’ conducted its first operation and raided a matka gambling centre in Udupi city and arrested two youth. During the raid, cash was seized from the accused.

On Wednesday evening, ‘Rani abbakka Force’ was on rounds duty under the leadership of Women Police Sub Inspector Rekha when at around 5:35 pm, they received information that gambling was being conducted at a sandal repair shop near Udupi city bus stop based on which the operation was conducted.

During the raid, the police arrested Rakesh (26) from Kallyanpur Santhekatte and Santhosh (42) from Kadekaru. Rs 2,435 cash has been seized from the arrested. A case has been registered in this connection at the city police station.

‘Rani Abbakka Force’ was flaged off by SP Nisha James on April 2nd.
