Bengaluru: The Chief Secretary of the Karnataka government Ravikumar has said that the chief minister has stated no attempts are to be made to persuade the striking transport workers as the government will execute an alternative option.
Speaking to reporters here after a meeting with the chief minister, he said transport workers cannot be considered as government employees for any reason and hence the 6th Pay Commission cannot be implemented for them.
“Strict action will be taken if road transport corporation buses are damaged during protests on April 7. Additionally, employees not reporting for work will lose their salary for that period,” he added.
