Mangaluru: “There is no life security to the 62% of workers who are working in unorganized sectors in the country. The interest rate of Provident Fund (PF) has been reduced since Modi government to charge at the centre. Therefore, workers should not vote for BJP,” said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Labour Cell President S S Prakasam at a press meet on Monday April 15 claiming that during the last 5 years of BJP rule the working class has been pushed into trouble by the party’s anti-labour policies .
“The complexities of the new regime tax have driven many small enterprises out of business and made thousands of people jobless. This Goods and Service Tax (GST) is a way to remove many from the pockets of the poor. Due to demonetization 115 people lost their lives but no compensation has been provided to the victim’s family,” he said.
“As working classes are fed up of the anti-labour programmes of the central government, they will replace BJP government with Congress,” he claimed and added that if the working classes decide to change the government, none could divert their attention.
