Team India had brought joy to millions of cricket fans when they won their second world cup on April 2, 2011 playing against Sri Lanka.

Remembering this auspicious day, cricket news website ESPN cricinfo took to Twitter to share a photo of Former captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni’s shot and wrote,”#OnThisDay in 2011, the shot that sent millions of Indians into jubilation”

Irked by not recognizing the efforts of the other Indian players and praising just 1 six, Former Indian Opener Gautam Gambhir posted a photo of the same tweet and wrote, “Just a reminder @ESPNcricinfo #worldcup2011 was won by entire India, entire Indian team & all support staff. High time you hit your obsession for a SIX”

Soon after, the news website tweeted multiple moments of the final between India and Sri Lanka.

In the final game, Mahela Jayawardene top-scored with 103 runs from just 88 balls for Sri Lanka to set a target of 275 for India.

Chasing the target, Gautham Gambhir top scored for India with 97 from 122 balls while while MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten 91 run knock from 79 balls. MS Dhoni was also adjourned as Man Of the Match for his innings.
