Every five years, October 20 is celebrated as World Statistics Day. The day intends to emphasise the importance of data authenticity and credibility
The celebration of World Statistics Day 2020 is a global collaborative endeavour, organized under the guidance of the United Nations Statistical Commission.
The Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic Affairs is the global coordinator of the campaign, defining global key messages and making available outreach resources to countries and other partners through this website
At its 41st Session in February 2010, the United Nations Statistical Commission proposed celebrating 20 October 2010 as World Statistics Day
The day intends to raise awareness on the importance of trustworthy, authentic data. It is an endeavour by the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic Affairs.
This year, the theme of World Statistics Day is, “Connecting the world with data we can trust”. The theme intends to emphasise on the importance of trust, authoritative data and innovation.
