Beijing: A woman has emerged as the latest billionaire after one of Asia’s richest breakups.
As per sources, the chairman of Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co., Du Weimin transferred 161.3 million shares of the company to his ex-wife, Yuan Liping, which immediately made her into the billionaires’ list.
The worth of the shares is said to be USD 3.2 billion as of Monday’s close.
49-year-old Liping worked as a director in the company from May 2011 to August 2018.
Amazon founder Jeff and his ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos hold the record of the most expensive divorce as Jeff had transferred 4% of shares to his ex-wife during the divorce.
With shares worth USD 4.8 billion, MacKenzie holds the 4th position in the richest women billionaires’ list.
