Bengaluru: Five of the seven men accused in the murder for journalist Gauri Lankesh held meetings in Karnataka and Maharashtra to plot the death of rationalist and journalist from Mysuru K.S. Bhagavan.

Amole Kale (39); Amit Degwekar (39); Manohar Edave (28); K.T. Naveen Kumar (37); and Sujeet Kumar alias Praveen (37) , had even acquired guns and bullets for the job, said the Upparpet police in a charge-sheet submitted before the first ACMM court.

Examinations concerning the case uncovered that the accused had acquired guns and bullets from their contacts in Belagavi and had hid them at a relative’s home in Davangere. The police are yet to recuperate the weapon or the bullets.

The 700-page charge-sheet details the role of the accused, a forensic lab report to actualize the charges, and statements of more than 150 witnesses.
