Yadgir: Lightning strike kills four members of a same family

Four members of same family were killed after being struck by lightning on Monday evening in Jinakera Taanda of Yadgir Taluk.

The victims have been identified as Kishan Jadhav (25), Channappa Jadhav (18), Suneebai Rathod (27), and Nenu Jadhav (15).

The victims, along with several others, had sought shelter at the Muragamma Devi Temple in Jinakera Tanda due to heavy rain. As the storm intensified with loud thunder and lightning, a bolt of lightning directly struck the temple killing four of the people inside the temple on the spot.

Three others, identified as Ganesh, Darshan, and Mounesh, were injured in the incident and have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment, informed sources.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Yadgir Rural Police Station. Officers from the station have visited the site and registered a case.
