Yadgir: A young man committed suicide by consuming poison after writing a letter claiming he had to pay interest to the private finance company on the loan he had already repaid and being threatened by a lawsuit by them.
Ningappa Halimani (32) is a young farmer who committed suicide.
The man took the extreme step by consuming poison on the night of August 23.
Ningappa wrote about the loan in the letter and shared a status on his mobile phone apologising to his 1-year-old daughter and friends.
In the letter, he has attached the receipts, bills and other documents related to the loan and stated that the finance company also threatened him with a false cheque bounce case.
“The government is increasing the salaries of government employees. What about farmers. Crops are not receiving their prices, families are unable to pay their debts causing many to lose their lives. I too am joining them now,” he said in the letter.
